Description of machinery fitted in two Straits Steamship Co's vessels, Lipis and Larut; vessels built by Hall Russell, Scotland, were originally equipped with steam engines; new engines are of standard Ruston direct reversing marine design giving rated power of 800 bhp at 300 rpm; service speed 253 rpm.
