Built by William Denny and Bros, Dumbarton, for British Railways, for Folkestone-Boulogne service; she is first vessel on this short route to be fitted with Denny-Brown stabilizer; main machinery consists of two sets of Parsons single reduction geared turbines, developing 11,000 shp at 275 rpm.
