Two ways of bettering gravity feed system: reducing 25 to 35 F fuel temperature rise between tank and fuel line near engine, and keeping pressure drop from tank to carburetor bowl as low as possible; in military aircraft centrifugal pumps submerged in fuel tank should be used which keep fuel system under higher pressure than atmosphere.
