Field experimentation with lime stabilized roads, conducted by Texas Highway Dept; laboratory tests prior to treatment rendered bearing stress of raw soils at 75 psi; following treatment with lime and moist curing for 7 days, strength ranged from 120 to as high as 478 psi; examples of lime stabilized roads prove their satisfactory behavior.
