250-ton wrecking crane, built by Industrial Brownhoist Corp for Norfolk and Western Ry, is powered with two 150-hp Cummins Diesels driving through Twin Disc hydraulic torque converters; equipped with selective 2-piece slewing mechanism which operates through friction type clutches and highly efficient worm and worm wheel; two 6-wheel steel side frame trucks carry car body, permit free movement around 125-ft radius curves, and are designed to withstand heavy wrecking service.
