Data on experiment carried on by Gauley Mountain Coal Co in welding rail joints at track sections subjected to rugged traffic; Company's experiences with welded joints has shown that track maintenance is decreased appreciably with their use, and that faster and smoother haulage can be obtained when conventional type of rail joint has been eliminated.
