Positions of boundary layer transition were ascertained for sweptback and straight wing of like conditions; sweptback wing in definite range of angle of attack resulted in backward shift of transition point on suction side of wing; favorable effect of sweepback on position of transition point predicted by LIPPISCH is confirmed.
