Replies to questionnaire revealed wide variety of claim prevention activities aimed at reduction in losses due to avoidable loss or damage; new practices included invitations to shippers to attend railroad employees' loss and damage and safe handling motion pictures and discussions; "flying squadron" of specially trained prevention men visiting entire system, supplementing regular freight service inspectors; impact recorders used solely within each terminal.
