Until new criteria are evolved, or experience accumulates, designer will be hard pressed to replace these cumbersome methods in order to clear aircraft for high speed flight; resonance testing equipment should measure phase angles to within some 3° instead of present 30° and multiple fixed pickups and switchgear would cut down testing time enormously; interpretation of tests is still in infancy.
