Formidable difficulties stand in way of space travel even to nearest planets; these increase greatly with remoteness of goal to be reached; travel time to outer planets would be measured in decades, to other stars in thousands of years; temperatures beyond orbit of Mars are below freezing; temperatures beyond Pluto are below freezing point of air.
