Frisco Railroad Network Model, using multiprogramming digital computer for simulation, is designed to simulate operation of network for specified number of days and emphasizes operations that are significant at total-network level; basic objectives of simulation are to evaluate effect of alternative scheduling and associated policies and to answer questions of determining timetables, length of trains, preblocking, grouping policies, distribution of classification switching activities, and types of yard facilities; examples of simulation outputs are given.
