Research study at Trieste Univ in Italy conducted to improve commercial speed of trains, by evaluating within sufficiently close limits of approximation, cost involved for each minute of journey time saved; study established that most costly methods did not fundamentally result in any appreciable results, or gave results completely disproportionate to cost involved; examples and advisability of measures that intended to increase commercial speed of trains.
