Apr. 7 1928 n 14 p 570-574: Improved traffic signal system, reasonable parking restrictions, distribution of traffic, pedestrians regulation and more efficient utilization of transportation vehicles are proposed to give relief; Detroit is less than 50 per cent efficient in use of its streets; three general relief measures proposed; need for strict enforcement of parking restrictions in congested business district; off-street parking facilities adequate but not used. Apr. 14 n 15 p 617-621: Commercial vehicles use only few routes; jaywalking and crossing against red traffic lights are common practices; extensive survey of travel habits shows wide variations in modes of transportation used; transportation controls community development.
