Author considers theory of various types proposed, which are subdivided into internal U-tube and wing-tank type open to sea; considers case of gyro-stabilizer, and explains damaging influence upon gyro of yawing of ship; in correspondence, Krueger points out that author's fears of resonance have never been realized in any model experiment work which has yet been published.
