Points to similarity between torsional oscillations recorded with oil-engine drive of ship as published by Dreves in same journal (no. 18, p. 461, 1921), and those registered by electric locomotives with parallel crank drive; from which it appears evident that these torsional oscillations are the same as so-called shaking vibrations. Discusses most important of these vibrations and means of preventing them.
