Development of suitable engine for "Airflow Custom Imperial" by Chrysler Corp required dynamometer capable of absorbing output of engine at speeds higher than any hitherto used; for longer periods of time; dynamometer has max continuous rating of 150 hp at 3000 to 5000 rpm; capable of operating continuously at 5000 rpm, and will absorb 225 hp intermittently at this speed.
