CEA Street and Highway Lighting Committee feels that main traffic arteries are first place of attack in lighting program; main arteries usually are about 20% of total mileage, but carry most traffic and have greatest number of accidents; with new developments in luminaries and their increased efficiency and low cost, it is opportune time to modernize old systems and install new systems in effort to stem accident toll.
