Oil tanker Esso Oxford built and engined by Cammell Laird and Co for Esso Petroleum Co; length bp 600 ft; molded breadth 82 ft 6 in.; dwc 26,647 ton; ten main cargo tanks are subdivided into 3 separate compartments; two casing arrangement of cross compound geared turbines is employed with maximum speed of 4105 rpm for 7150 shp for h-p turbine and 6600 shp at 3070 rpm for 1-p turbine; two main boilers are of Babcock and Wilcox integral furnace type.
