All tunnels are of open-throat pattern, and are distinguished rather by evidence of European influence than by novel principles of design; six recent Japanese wind tunnels are all of Goettingen, open-jet closed-return, pattern; this type of wind tunnel is tending in Great Britain and America, towards same popularity as it already enjoys in Germany and Japan; methods adopted in Japanese laboratories.
