New destroyers are similar in dimensions to standard British vessels, and speed and armament closely resemble those of British ships; comparison of particulars of Canadian craft with those published for Acasta class; armament for both types includes four 4.7-in. guns and eight 21-in. torpedo tubes; propelling machinery consists of single-reduction geared turbines taking steam from three water-tube boilers.
