Semi-Markov process is defined as stochastic process in which time is independent variable and dependent variable can assume only enumerable number of discrete values, and where transition from one given state to another depends on length of time spent in given state; under given assumptions, process equations are obtained which can be represented by means of block diagrams; there is perfect correspondence between process and electrical network with positive feedback; process is illustrated by aircraft mission phase consisting in detecting and determining position of target.
