Transparencies are defined as including wind-screens and bomb aimers' panels, excluding canopies, hoods, escape panels and passenger windows; Royal Air Force has some 11,000 windscreens and bomb aimers' panels at risk covering many types of aircraft; some failure patterns in different aircraft environments and cause and effects of failures are examined, together with modifications which have taken place; future transparency requirements.
