Intensive studies of turbulence problem have been made following series of turbulence-associated upsets occurring in civil and military jet transport operations; studies included analyses of flight recorder records and flight crew statements, computer simulation studies, human centrifuge tests, flight tests, and other efforts highlighting attitude indicator readability and interpretation, turbulence penetration speeds, and control problems; two operational approaches are suggested.
