Investigation of distributions of pressure, recovery factor, and heat-transfer coefficient on 20° cones incorporating annular cavities was carried out in helium at free-stream Mach numbers of 11; effects of Reynolds number, cavity length-depth ratio, and reattachment region geometry were studied with emphasis on laminar, open cavity flow regime; results showed that pressure was virtually constant within cavity and downstream and very close to laminar attached-flow value.
