New type of steel grating highway crossing which does not interfere with drainage, may be readily removed in sections for track surfacing work, and, with slight additional work, may be entirely removed for passage of ballast cleaning equipment, has been in service on Erie since Sept 1948; crossing is designed to permit track to be raised as much as 5 in.
