New 2500-hp locomotive for Western Region, built by Brown Boveri of Switzerland; power unit consists of gas turbine, compressor, heat exchanger, combustion chamber and geared generator; main generator supplies four d-c traction motors continuously connected in parallel, through motor isolating switches and reversing switch which determines direction of running of locomotive.
