Influence of Jones-White Act on shipbuilding; quarter-billion-dollar construction loan fund established by this Act has been available for little more than year, yet Shipping Board has granted loans for about one-fifth of fund to rehabilitate United States Merchant Marine by making possible construction of modern passenger and cargo vessels in American shipyards for overseas trade; wind and eddy resistance studied; progress in marine power plants.
