Operational advantages offered by use of locomotives with unorthodox wheel arrangements; tests of riding properties of body show that lateral frequency increases not directly with speed but that at first it rises faster than theoretically predicted for free wheelset and at speeds in excess of about 40 mph rise slows down more than predicted for 4- and 6-wheel trucks; lateral ride index values.
