Mobile concept for launch complex developed for Manned Lunar Landing Program comprises Vertical Assembly building where assembly, checkout, and launch control operations will be performed; major element of mobile concept is launcher-umbilical tower (LUT) which is transportable launcher which carries connected umbilical tower and assembled Apollo-Saturn V; crawler-transporter is used to transport L UT to pad and is capable of handling 11,500,000 lb; arming tower, launch pads, automatic checkout, and launch operations.
