Results obtained by using recording siltmeters developed and used by Research Station of British Transport Docks Board; instruments consist of underwater head, which is mounted at position and depth at which concentration of silt in suspension is to be measured and control box and electrical recorder mounted on land nearby; effect of tidal range on silt in suspension; variation of silt with time of year; combined effect of temperature and tidal range; effect of fresh water.
