Details of laboratory test method devised to measure variation in coefficient of friction values of lining as it passes through various degrees of wetness; method uses General Motors Research Laboratories brake lining test machine to which water spray apparatus was adapted; results of tests on 2 linings are shown; first one of most sensitive lining material tested to date; second is improved material.
