Research conducted by authors associated with Boeing Co on tolerability of environmental conditions at level of variables which were abstracted from number of space system designs; tolerability was measured in terms of physiological variation, changes in performance and transmissibility of random vibration; seven subjects were exposed to maximum random vibration envelope predicted for current space vehicle boosters; tests were designed to determine feasibility of manual guidance of space craft during critical launch and re-entry phases of flight.
