Problems that solid propellant rocket engineer will encounter in designing for long term storage in radiation environment and summary of present knowledge of radiation environment; mechanisms of radiation degradation and its effects on tensile properties of propellant binders; data from program of irradiation of several propellants are presented; properties of 2 of propellants were changed significantly by doses of order of 4×106 rad.
