Heat transfer by radiation from nonisothermal gas stream to hypersonic blunt body is analyzed; relative importance between aerodynamic and radiative heat transfer as function of flight Mach number and altitude is presented; hemispherical emissivity as function of absorption coefficient, nose radius, and standoff distance as parameter is presented in graphical form.
