Approximate time optimal control law for lunar orbit rendezvous was derived from application of Pontryagin's maximum principle; method of solution is equally applicable to in-plane and out-of-plane rendezvous maneuvers; numerical examples of in-plane rendezvous maneuvers, and description of closed-loop guidance schemes using approximate control law.
