Research carried out by Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories, in development of methods and computer programs to derive atmospheric density values at perigee heights from analysis of satellite observations; procedure developed to obtain detailed quantitative information about perturbing effects of atmospheric drag by appropriate analysis of satellite motion, and, from analysis, to determine density values; density results obtained from five satellites, including 1959 Alpha 2 (Vanguard II Rocket Body), 1962 Eta 1 and Explorer XVII, 1963 IOTA.
