Condensation of two papers: Bus Design from Operator's Viewpoint -- Inter-City Service, T. L. JAMES; and Bus Design from Operator's View-point -- City Service, A. F. McDOUGALD; authors agree upon following requirements: more engine horsepower to meet traffic pace; improved transmissions, preferably automatic types; more adequate heating and ventilation; better styling; overall width of 102 in. of larger sized vehicles, and 96 in. for smaller buses; accessory units more conveniently located.
