Future highways will differ from those of past mainly in better adjustment of design and capacity to character of usage; reference is made to report by National Interregional Highway Committee to Congress in 1944; discussion of requirements of highway standards concerning land width, signs and signals, and strength of pavement; highway overpass near Arlington Va, expressway in Chicago, traffic interchange for end of bridge at Portland, Ore, and parkway in South Pasadena, Calif, illustrated.
