To reduce time and expense involved in testing bearings in full scale engines, Wright Aeronautical Corp established extensive supplementary program of testing in laboratory rigs; use of rigs has not only accelerated bearing development but greatly reduced its cost; testing sleeve bearings in laboratory test rigs and full scale engines.
