General problems associated with design of propellers for gas turbines and application of turbine propeller power plants to high speed airplanes; conclusion reached that at speeds of 600 to 700 mph propeller efficiencies of over 70% appear possible, particularly with unconventional configurations, such as swept-back blades and small diameter multi-blade propellers.
