Approach used is to present kinds of natural vibrations in vehicles which determine quality of ride, and to discuss sources of forces both outside and within vehicle in operation, which initiate vibrations and establish their magnitude of motion; by examining factors involved in highway truck ride, suspensions of tractor and trailer are recognized as heart of ride problem; refinement in seating, cab mounting, frame flexure, drive line vibration, fifth wheel connections, etc, contribute to ultimate improvement in driver and cargo ride.
