Locomotive, especially suitable for steel works, built by Yorkshire Engine Co, Sheffield, is of- rigid frame type, with two axles having wheels 3 ft 6 in. diam on tread, coupled together to take care of weight transfer and slip; prime mover is Davey Paxman 6RPHL in-line 6-cyl engine developing 230 bhp at 1250 rpm and solidly coupled to BT H d-c generator of 3-winding self ventilated type, RTB 8836, and exciter, type DY 1514.
