Alaska Highway, topographic conditions and lack of maps necessitated reconnaissance by aerial observation; data on procedure and surveying equipment used in making detailed studies; topographic relief of area was studied in detail by stereoscopic examination of aerial vertical photographs, making possible fullest use of photographs for highway location work.
