Performance evaluated by observations of ice prevention properties of propeller during flight in natural icing conditions and by collection of thermal data on propeller during flight in clear air and in clouds at temperatures above freezing; test propeller was equipped with hollow steel blades altered to permit heated air to enter blade cavities at propeller hub and to leave cavities at blade tips.
