Isosceles triangle twisted into screw surface about its axis is proposed as propeller for transonic flight speeds; purpose is to attain drag reduction associated with large sweepback in structurally practicable configuration; mathematical theory for such propeller presented; 12-ft propeller estimated to be able to absorb 18,500 blip at 840 mph at sea level.
