Combining dynamic loading in laboratory with brittle lacquer stress analysis stated to be quickest method of developing lighter and longer life wheels and brakes; strain in coating and in metal must be considered separately; problem is to obtain Stresscoat pattern exactly at peak of strain magnitude so that direction of strain at its maximum value may be determined; strain gage indicates complete strain cycle.
