Ship control system of Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) augments stability and controllability of submersible; two distinguishable regimes of vehicle motion -- hover and cruise; navigation inputs to ship control system are velocity commands provided via hand controllers or from central processor computer in accordance with preselected guidance law; implementation of ship control system philosophy is hierarchy of hardware and sensor configurations with design goal of minimal performance degradation due to single failure in system.
