Simplified version of midcourse guidance problem for space vehicle with low-thrust control rocket is posed as stochastic optimal control problem; control decision process is continuous in time; control magnitude is bounded in instantaneous value and in integrated value; state of system is observed in noisy measurements and governed by linear dynamics; numerical solutions are generated by procedure based on dynamic programming and checked by Monte Carlo simulation; numerical solutions of related problem, analyzed by C.T. Striebel and J.V.Breakwell, are also generated and compared. (03723)
