Navy Navigation Satellite System provides unique capability for accurate and repeatable position location which is being exploited in geophysical and oceanographic survey applications; equipment requirements are relatively modest, both in initial cost and areas of logistic and operational support; improved versions of user equipments are presently being implemented which will provide additional navigational and related capabilities.
