Method of electrical heating for railroad tank cars is described that makes it possible to heat contents of cars en route; tubular electric heater is adapted to serve 8000-gal sugar syrup car equipped with 10 kw generator; system maintains sugar syrup at temperature between 110-120 F during rail shipment; similarly equipped car could also carry concentrated 73% caustic; diesel generator set is mounted on top of cars.
